A number of the rules to contain COVID-19 in WA have changed in the last couple of days. This includes the regional lockdowns and the restriction of gatherings to 2 people.
For cyclists a key change is that it now appears that 2 people can cycle together even if they are not from the same household. So it looks like you can phone a friend and arrange a ride.
You must still maintain your “social distance” at all times.
The current rules are here:
- The “Preventative Restriction of Activities Directions (No 2)” withdraws the direction that “Bike-Riding” is an activity that must be undertaken alone unless others in the group are from the same household.
- the “Prohibited Gatherings Direction” limits gatherings in a public place, either indoor or outdoor, to 2 people.
